Just wanted to wish all of our friends who observe Yom Kippur an easy fast.

I’m doing well so far, but the night is young.

I also wanted, as is the custom at this time, to offer my heartfelt apologies to anyone on this board I have wronged in the last year, and offer my forgiveness to anyone who may have wronged me. You’re a pretty capital bunch of people, and I feel privileged to be part of a dynamic, (usually!) thoughtful community like this.

Best of luck to those fasting. It’s hungry work, but someone’s got to do it.

Apologies for missing the beginning.

Today is the traditional Day of Atonement (that is why you apologize to all you have wronged in the past year, as well as offer forgiveness to those who have wronged you). Those who are not familiar - please do not wish someone a “Happy Yom Kippur”. It is not meant to be a happy holiday.

The traditional greeting is that given by Figureman - “Have an easy fast”. You might also say, as do I, “G’mar khatima tovah” (may you be sealed for a good year), or “Leshanah tovah tikatevu vetechatemu” (“Be inscripted and sealed for a good year”).

I am now a better Jew.
