What would you do if you could buy the sun?

Think about that for a moment, and then let the absurdity of the idea flicker away as someone else already beat you to it-

Who the hell gives ownership of the SUN to a single person?

Re: What would you do if you could buy the sun?

Seems watertight to me.

Re: What would you do if you could buy the sun?

I never thought I would quote a comment on a Yahoo article, but I guess I was mistaken.

“I’m suing her every time I get a sunburn.”

Re: What would you do if you could buy the sun?

You could buy other stars in the National Star Registry. That seems silly though because you are not really buying the star. I called and asked if I had mining rights to the planets around said star and if inhabited if I could enslave the indigenous population. They won’t even let you pick the spectral type of star.

I wonder how this woman managed to buy the actual sun.

Re: What would you do if you could buy the sun?

True, I doubted it was real myself, but the sheer balls it takes to claim you own the sun, let alone actually legally own it is pretty impressive.

Re: What would you do if you could buy the sun?

The point really is that she showed us that, given that no one has claimed the sun, it’s ripe for the picking. And if not, what does that say for other territories (the poles, for instance) that people say they can just claim.
