tonight i was at work and sliced my finger. I thought i was supposed to clean the slicer. But, while I was, I sliced open my finger.

Went to the ER with my boss. I got a gelfoam put on the wound, and fortunately no stitches. I also had to have a tetanus shot.

I am ok. I only hope I do not get infected.

Oddly enough, never hurt myself this way…

I DID stab a knife up under my fingernail hard while slicing an apple, but that’s not quite as serious.

I AM however, reminded of a story where (I’ve probably already told this one, but I’m in a storytelling mood while I come down from playing DS), while I was taking martial arts. There were these two people who were having a sparring match. This was, of course, during a test so some of these people I had never seen before. This match was between one large mustachioed man and this kid. Now, apparently, during the match, the kid got his toenail caught in some loose skin under the large man’s foot, while they were both mid-kick. Now, were it just one of them kicking, he maybe would have gotten away with a broken toe, but since there was so much kinetic energy (I’m guessing), it ended up ripping his big toe right off. Quite a sight to see, and it really showed in the new caution everyone else took in the advancement exams that day.

I am glad to hear you are ok Chris. I would of took the stiches rather then some type of new gelfoam thingy which I never heard of.

RSI that is one sick story… I love it!! Ok I am kidding I am really grossed out by that.

An update. I went to the Dr’s today, my finger is healing ok. My boss cleared me of the schedule to Wednesday to make sure there are no complications, and I am not about to risk an infection.

If it’s ok with Vickie, I’m gonna take a pic and post how bad the wound was. It was pretty bad. I am just glad I am ok.

Hmmmm…. gore porn.

Hope it’s not too bad. I once shot a pressure hose clean through my finger. The fascination only stopped the pain for a couple of seconds, though actually it wasn’t that bad in the end. Still: glad that I didn’t have a proper wound like you.
