Did anyone else hear about the shooting at Virginia Tech?

Just so I’m clear, this isn’t the other Virginia Tech shooting that happened a couple of years ago, right (I might be thinking of another state but there was a [state] Tech shooting like two or three years ago IIRC)? This is a new one?

Yep. Same school, different shooting.

More like a traffic stop that went wrong rather than a school shooting. Both of the dead were carrying guns.

So to be clear, this wasn’t a mad gunman shooting at defenseless students (many of who could legally carry guns, but were denied the ability to defend themselves on campus). Gun free zones create the very conditions where a criminal can continually kill people knowing that the law-abiding can’t shoot back. Hell, at the first shooting, the police wouldn’t even enter the building until they were sure the killer had killed himself.

This was a case of an armed robbery suspect killing the cop that pulled him over. It just happened to be a campus cop.

The shooter wasn’t the one stopped for the traffic offense. He ambushed the cop and then ran off, changed cloths, and shot himself. I feel for the officer but he should have been more aware of his surroundings. Traffic stops are always bad because you never know what you are walking into. So it is easy to understand why he may have been caught off guard with what was happening around him simply because he was to focused on the subject in the vehicle.
