This is more about writing than ABDL, but what free writing AI do you guys recommend?

Just looking to increase my writing output, obviously, I’ll edit the results I get, and if it doesn’t go in the direction I want, cut certain parts of it out and either write them myself or have the AI fill in the gap and have them edit that.

So you’re saying “I want to pretend to have written this, even though I just looked over it and did some editing”? I’m not quite sure how to react to that. I always thought the point of being a writer was to actually do the writing; making the world that is in your mind appear on the page. That the work itself was part of the whole point. Stories are, by their very nature, an artisanal product. (And yes, that is the right spelling of artisanal. No butt-jokes please.)

I’m thinking that if you want a story and feel like you can’t do all the work alone, you could support other writers by either collaborating with someone else to write a story together, or commision a whole story and make sure you have permission to change it before posting it as your own (although you should probably also include the original writer).

Well, that’s my view of it anyway.

HoloAI at least used to offer a free tier and is decent. If you use their “fanfic” dataset, it even contains an “ABDL” tag, meaning that the AI has been trained on at least some stories with ABDL content and you can tell it to treat your story as one, too. (Though most of the time the AI still assumes that any characters wearing diapers are babies/toddlers; I’m not sure how much of an impact the tag has in practice.)

NovelAI is also worth a try, though I’m not sure how much you can use it for free (there is a brief short trial).

Writing AIs aren’t really at a point where you could just hand over the assignment to them and let them do all the work. In practice it’s more like having a tool or co-author who can provide you with ideas or inject some randomness into where the story is going, but the human still needs to do most of the work. (Especially if you want to write something with an ABDL theme, which the AI usually doesn’t understand very well.)

This article explains how to use one particular site (AI Dungeon) for this purpose, you can see the technology’s limitations pretty well. While it talks about AI Dungeon, the principles it discusses apply to other similar sites as well.

Thank you, but I did consider that, but then the problem rears its ugly head.

With who?

For collaboration: Have you considered asking?
For commissions: I’m sure there are people who would be willing to write for money. (I don’t know where I’d look since I write for fun)

Huh, I probably should’ve considered asking, as for money, I don’t have any to spare.

Would you mind collaborating with me?

This is probably not the best thread to ask in, for the following reasons.

There’s no writing sample of yours for someone to see if your styles and skill level are compatible with theirs

More importantly, you’re basically asking if someone will be your AI, given the thread context.

I’d suggest posting a story, or at least an outline, and asking for collab partners in that thread.

Yeah, can you not act like a moderator and try to control threads that aren’t yours for the following reasons:

  1. It was part of the natural flow of the discussion that was being had between @Gummybear ane @Nether_Void

  2. literally @Nether_Void’s thread so if he doesn’t have an issue with it, it’s not an issue.

  1. Literally 10 seconds with the search function would have told you otherwise

  2. His profile’s activity tab would have told you otherwise.

  1. No, if you read the actual messages from from him and Gummy it is obviously not.

This is the only valid point in your post.

And in the future if you think there’s a problem then flag the post and don’t respond.

Generating a good AI story is almost as hard as writing it yourself. You have to give the model a good set of training data first. It’s only cheating if you don’t want to put the work in

Indeed.

And now all we need is a poll where we vote which of the frequent posters here is actually an AI based on their forum posts (and I mean the non-story ones).

Now, where did I put that “I failed the Turing test” t-shirt?
