The Assingment

Hey everyone, my first attempt to write a story. I’m more of a casual writer so it may come in spurts rather than steadily. I hope you enjoy the fiction of my mind.

The Assignment
Chapter1
Mrs. Herrington was rambling again about some stupid novel and how it revealed the human condition, and Alice was just drowning it out. Alice hated this class. To be honest she hated school all together, but English class was the worst. There was just too much reading, something Alice never enjoyed. To top it off Mrs. Herrington was a young new teaching graduate with so much pep, and perkiness it was sickening. She also gave out the weirdest assignments. Last month she had the class create a new word and use it in our conversations for a week and then write a paper on how the word was received.
As if on cue Mrs. Herrington ended the class with the announcement of a new assignment. “I want you all to think of someone in your life, maybe a friend or family member, and put yourself in their shoes for a weekend. To do the things they do, live the way they live, and write about your experience. The essay will be due at the end of the month and it needs to be 600 words long. Ok that’s all you can all scurry along and have fun!” said Mrs. Herrington. Like I said, she was annoyingly cheerful. The assignment was a drag but I figured it wouldn’t be so bad. I would just do what I did with the last one, pretend I did what she asked and write up some BS to hand in.
Chapter 2
Alice was staring into her mirror admiring her looks. She was 5’4" and was neither slight nor overly curvy. Her hair is red; despite the book character she was named after, and it fell in curly rings about her face. Needless to say she was quite popular among the boys, and that’s not event counting the fact she was on the cheerleading team. She had just finished typing up her fake essay for the stupid english assignment. Alice was 18, in her senior year of High school and was dreaming of finally heading off to college. Unfortunately she needed to do decently well in her final classes to qualify for this cheerleading scholarship she received. Oh well, nothing was going to stop her now.
A soft knock came at her bedroom door, and her mother peeked her head in. “Hey Alice just wanted to check if you finished your english assignment?” asked Mrs. Matthews. “Yeah Mom it’s done” said Alice annoyed. “I know you hate me prying but I got a call from your teacher Mrs. Herrington and she wanted me to know how well you did on the last assignment. The only thing is I know you didn’t do anything you said you did” lectured her mother. Alice was ticked off now “You know what Mom what does it matter? I got a good grade right? So can you just stop poking your nose into my business!” said Alice very tersely.
Mrs. Matthews face showed her anger and Alice knew she probably pushed her mother to far. She always had attitude problems but her mother was always so nosy. “I want to see your essay Alice” said Mrs. Matthews. “Why don’t you ever trust me? You don’t need to get involved; I’m not getting into any trouble.” whined Alice. Her mother held out her hand and said “Now!”
Reluctantly Alice pulled out her essay and gave it to her mother. Mrs. Matthews sat at her daughters desk and read a wonderful piece of fiction on how she had walked in her mother’s shoes and played homemaker over a weekend, cleaning, cooking, and even caring for her baby brother James.
Mrs. Matthews was quite for a bit after reading. “When is this due” she asked. “On Monday” replied Alice. “Great” said her mother. “That means you have all weekend to do exactly what you said you did and then rewrite this Sunday night” Alice looked at her mother dumbfounded. “Mom I did the essay! I even wrote down all I could have learned doing it. I don’t actually need to do it!” said an agitated Alice. “That is not the point Alice. The assignment is not just some tick off of your homework. It is supposed to help you broaden how you view life.” answered her mother. “Fine ill cook and clean but I am not watching James. You remember what happened last time!” yelled Alice. Mrs. Matthews did indeed.
A year ago Alice was left home to babysit her brother James while her father and mother had a nice anniversary dinner and then go to a show afterwards. They came home halfway through dinner because their neighbor heard James crying for 45 minutes and came over to find Alice watching a movie. James’ diaper was very full and had been ignored by Alice. Needless to say she had been grounded big time after that.
Thinking back to this incident gave Mrs. Matthews a brilliant idea though. She looked at Alice and said “Don’t worry dear I’ve thought of a better way for you to do this assignment.” Alice didn’t like the way her mother’s eyes held unvoiced mirth, but she couldn’t get her mother to tell her what the plan was. Instead her mother gathered up her brother James, the car keys, and said “I’ll be back in a while dear. You’re grounded for the weekend until we finish this assignment. I need to go pick up a couple things to help us do the assignment. Hang tight until I get back.” Off she drove leaving Alice wondering what horrible plans her mother had conceived for her.

Re: The Assingment

Maybe Alice was wondering, but none of the rest of us are. Yet another story where the big payoff happens in chapter 2, with little buildup other than a series of excuses as to why Mom would want to put Alice in diapers for the weekend. And, if the “remembering” is any indication, she’ll likely be forced to sit in soiled diapers for extended periods of time over the course of this time frame.

Re: The Assingment

LOL oh this story is as predictable as most horror films. ::slight_smile: I won’t even claim to be a good writer, cause I am not. I just wanted to contribute something as I have read so many stories here. I am hoping this story is somewhat more believable than others… I mean unlikely but not outrageous.

Re: The Assingment

Here are chapters 3 and 4

Chapter 3
Alice was watching TV while texting her friends when she heard her mother’s van pulling into the driveway. She quickly shut off the TV and went outside to help bring in the bags her mother was collecting. Alice hoped that a little sucking up might change her situation. Mrs. Matthews upon seeing her daughter tartly replied “Get back in the house dear. I will take care of this myself.” This worried Alice as it could only mean her mom did not want her to see what was in those bags yet. What was her mother doing!?
So Alice quietly and patiently, ok quietly, waited while her mother brought in all the bags and her brother. Mrs. Matthews deposited all of the bags in the kitchen, except one which she brought with her into the living room. Motioning Alice over she said “Ok dear, here is the deal. You are going to step into the shoes of one of your family members.” Alice thought this over for a minute before asking “In Dad’s shoes?” Her mother shook her head no. “Your shoes?” she asked even though her mother had hinted no earlier. Once again her mother shook her head no. This left Alice puzzled and she said “Mom who’s else’s shoes can I be in? The only other person is James and I can’t…” Alice trailed off her eyes becoming wide with recognition as to what her mother had planned.
Mrs. Matthews seeing her daughter now understood confirmed saying “Yes dear, this weekend you will be a baby like James. You will step into the shoes of an infant and learn what it’s like to be totally dependent on another.” Alice was unsure of what she meant or had planned. “How am I going to step into James shoes Mom? I don’t even know what you mean?” said Alice. So Mrs. Matthews laid it out for her “It means you will go about your days like James. You will not talk, you will eat what I feed you, you will take naps and sleep when I put you down, and you will wear and use your diapers.”
Alice’s whole demeanour changed upon hearing this and she shouted “There is no freaking way I am doing that mom. That is like gross and demeaning. You cannot make me!” Alice attempted to walk out on her mother but Mrs. Matthews grabbed her arm and sat her down. “You are right, I cannot make you. Instead I’m offering you a choice. You can either do this, get the grades you need, or you can refuse and I will talk to your teacher inform her on what projects were really done or not. You know as well as I that if you fail this class you lose your scholarship. Then it would be summer school for you so you can get your grades up.”
Alice’s heart dropped, how could her mother blackmail her like this? Seeing her daughters face drop Mrs. Matthews added “I promise not to make you go outside this weekend wearing them. It is not my intention to embarrass you dear but for you to learn humility. You should not take shortcuts in things like this, even if you can get away with it.” The room was quiet for a bit before Alice said “Fine, I’ll do it. Just please don’t take any pictures, tell Dad or anyone about this!” “Only yourself, your teacher, and I have to know about this” said Mrs. Matthews. “My teacher!?” exclaimed Alice. “Well of course. You have to write her a paper about it, remember?”
So in the end Alice found herself on the living room floor, with her pants and underwear discarded, waiting to be diapered as her mother go the supplies ready.

Chapter 4
Alice was lying on the living room floor and her mother kneeled before her with a diaper and supplies in hand. “Ok Alice I need you to raise you bottom up” said Mrs. Matthews. Alice complied and lifter her hips off the ground while her mother slipped a diaper underneath her. She also noticed that her mother slipped two long rectangular items underneath her as well. “Mom, what are those?” asked Alice nervously. “They are called boosters dear. Each of them will help your diaper soak up a little more making each diaper last a little longer. That means less diaper changes for me.” replied her mother a little too cheerful for Alice. “Baby Alice remember, you cannot talk ok?” also said her mother, who then pulled out a pacifier and popped it in Alice’s mouth.
So Alice sucked on her paci while her mother finished adjusting the diaper, powdering her, and taping up her diaper. Once this was done Mrs. Matthews pulled Alice up and sat her down on the couch. “Stay here while I put everything away baby girl” she said.
Alice did as she was told while adjusting to her diapered state. The feeling of the diaper was not at all what Alice expected, it was actually quite comfortable, like a soft cotton pillow, but as underwear. So she began to feel it, standing up to adjust herself and feel it both front and back. She outside was plastic like older baby diapers but unadorned. Looking at the green package she realized she had heard of these diapers before, they were Depends. The bulk between her legs was unexpected as well. It was hard for her to squeeze her legs together, and if she simply walked, her butt sort of wagged left and right as waddled about. It took her mother about fifteen minutes to put everything away and Alice spent most of it discovering her diapers. In addition to the Depends her mother also bought her a brand she had never heard of called Tranquility. By the time her mother finished Alice was beginning to think that maybe this wouldn’t be as bad as she had feared.
