Ken - we also have the illegals (and the whole chunk of Eastern Europe that just became legal) and we pay for their medicine too!
In fact, we pay even more to detain them etc.

well. just got my W-2 today in the mail. now i just have to wait for a 1099 from my bank. apparently, i have to pay taxes on the interest i earned from the money in my savings account.

Yes, but considering the whole chunk of Eastern Europe who just became legal contribute NI and tax and have cost the state very little in terms of education and training - far less than you or I - we don’t really pay for them do we? Indeed, they really benefit us; the vast majority of them work, often in jobs native Britons don’t want, and have played a significant role in the strength of our economy. Naturally they are entitled to, and claim, the same benefits as the rest of us but not disproportionately. The net significance has been a positive one.

I’m waiting for the 1099 from the bank, my Student Loan Interest Statement, and whatever I need from my mutual find (lost money, does that count for less tax liability?), and I think I don’t get any of those until around the 31st.
I only have my W-2 and they want too much money in taxes.
