Stories based on True events

Would you guys read a story that is based on true events in my life? I’ve been pondering this for a while now and a recent thread sparked my mind into writing mode. Only problem is that I have no idea whether or not people would actually read this. Let me know guys thanks!

Re: Stories based on True events

Pretty simple. If you write it well and understand how to either embellish or adjust your pace up during slow portions (just like you would with a fiction story…) then it will be well received.

thanks for the comment

Re: Stories based on True events

The problem with stories that are true is entirely whether they are actually true or not. Somehow, some people get off on the “idea” that a story is true even when it is impossible to suspend disbelief for the story described. If what you write is actually true, it will probably be interesting. If you try to write a fantasy and pass it off as truth, everyone will be annoyed. That’s all.

A truly talented writer can make an interesting story out of a relatively benign anecdote. It’s all about colorful descriptions, the right amount of embellishment in crucial places, and intense narrative, whether tongue-in-cheek or serious. Hell, I scored an A+ in Comp 101 with a story about skipping school with some friends, because I did all of those things and turned a snoozer into compelling reading.

yes that was me and I already started writing it
