You might not know that name, but everyone knows who the Count is on Sesame street. Everyone’s favorite, loveable counting vampire, died today at the age of 78.
They did a proper send off for Mr. Hooper when the actor playing him died, so I wonder if Sesame Street’ll do the same with this one. I hope so, he deserves no less.

Heh, Mr. Hooper died back in the late 80’s early 90’s, don’t quite remember when. But they did an episode where Big Bird wanted to give Mr. Hooper an image he drew for him, and instead of reintroducing the character with a new actor, they actually talked about Mr. Hooper’s death on the show.
I thought that was brilliant. They handled it tactfully, big bird cried but they gave him a proper send off.
Maybe they won’t do it with the count considering it’s a puppet and the voice actor is easy to replace, but still, it’s nice to know that Sesame Street will be honest like that.
