Vickie: cellphones are usually just forbidden in certain wards like CCU, ICU, and the ER where they can really fuck with critical monitoring equipment. Also most hospitals have guest wifi so he could just be using that if they offer it

Heya BB - recover quickly, dude!
In case you guys didn’t know, he says he has end-stage liver cancer. I think that’d make the abdominal pains have much greater serious implications.

This is basically true.
He actually has melanoma, which is mostly in his liver, but also his brain and possibly his lungs. Last I heard, the tumor could just be pushing on a nerve which is causing the pain. But the doctors don’t know what the problem is quite yet.
He was in the ER earlier this week with the same problem, was admitted, but then got sent home to rest and recover. Now he’s back there again because the problem hasn’t gone away.

Spoke to BB earlier today. His doctors think they know what the problem is now.
He’s going in for sugery on Monday to remove some kind of blockage is his bile duct, which they believe is causing the pain in his abdomen. Once that’s complete, he should be on his way home to rest and recover.

The surgery was actually yesterday.
They ran more tests on Monday to make sure of everything before slicing into him. He’s doing well, though.
They were just about to serve him some pizza as his first official meal while at the hospital when I got off the phone with him.
Previous to that, he had just not eaten because it had been too painful for a long while.

Hi Folks,
Thank you for your well wishes, it means a lot to me.
I got home today after enduring getting poked and prodded and finally having surgery. It no longer hurts when I eat so things should get better for a while. I lost about 40 pounds in the last three weeks, and need to get my weight back where it belongs.
Thanks again DarkAngel for letting people know what’s going on when I couldn’t, I really appreciate it.
I was able to read the messages here on my iphone while at the hospital. The phone auto updates the pages every once in a while, so if you see that it shows me on, it may be that my phone is updating instead. I spent most of the time there asleep up until yesterday. Morphine tends to kick my butt. I was able to connect using WiFi thank God, or the 3G network would have been painfully slow where I was at.
Once again, thank you all for taking the time to post your well wishes, I really appreciate it!
