Mario Kart Wii is still set to be coming out here soon, yet still pretty quiet on the details. I see they just released some new info on it tonight…apparently now that Smash Bro’s is out in Japan they can direct all there attention to it now so hopefully we will be seeing some more info on it. So far I still love the SNES version the best. I wasn’t a fan of the 64 version because I really hated the fact you had so few courses and that more then anything it was so “balanced” or what ever. If you were in first place you got crap for weapons, but if you were in the back you got the greatest weapons. What ever happend to just chance and luck? That, and the computers and you got a boost if you were not in first pretty much .I hated hitting a PC player, then knocking him outta bounds or something and getting a mile ahead of them only 4 seconds later to have them right back on top of me again!

I really liked the 64 version. I can’t wait for the Wii version to come out, I’m drooling a bit in anticipation.

So what do you think then of them putting motorcycles in the game now? I’m not sure how I feel about that. I mean…it’s Mario Kart…as in Go Karts…so why bikes now?

Meh, Diddy Kong Racing was a fun game, and that had planes and boats and I still liked it. As far as Mario Kart is concerned, eventually small changes will have to be made to maintain the longevity of the franchise. I mean look at Mario Galaxy, it’s essentially the same game as Mario Sunshine except in space and with a new control dynamic.
I think that if we want our classic games to stay classic we need to just play the old incarnations, otherwise we’ll just be disappointed when the new one doesn’t live up to our expectation.

Well snaking will be in mario kart Wii. So now there will be both skill and chance. But I hate snaking myself lol.

according to the newest info I got over at IGN tonight, it stated they pretty much made it so you couldn’t use snaking any longer…or something to that effect.

The whole boosting effect from power slides is different now. The longer you hold in one power slide, the larger boost you get. Therefore, snaking probably won’t work, since you’ll get really small boosts with each powerslide that it probably won’t be worth the time it takes to do so.

The key word is difficult. thats way diffrent then “impossible”.

Ok now that I have had the game for 24 hours and played the HELL out of it snaking is gone, I never seen anyone even attmpt to do it online. Also Cape Koppa FTW!
