Star Trek fans will never forget James T. Kirk’s famous enraged yell, just as Star Trek fans will never forget the man who portrayed the monster who earned such ire. Ricardo Montalban, also known for his role on Fantasy Island, passed away this morning at the age of 88. He left behind a rich screen history and a legacy of improving the depiction of latinos in cinema. He was a man of quiet grace, and commanding presence. He will be sorely missed.
Another former TV star, Patrick McGoohan of “The Prisoner” died as well at age 80. McGoohan notably played the evil King Edward I in “Braveheart.”
“From hell’s heart, I stab at thee. For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee.”
Truly one of the greatest villains ever. I think it’s fair to say that Mr. Montalban had a life that anyone could be proud of, and he’ll be missed by his legions of adoring fans.
Wow. I also remember Ricardo from The Naked Gun. I also remember him from Fantasy Island, as well as Khan Singh from Star Trek.
He will be missed.
He was the main reason that Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is touted as the best Star Trek movie ever!!
R.I.P. Ricardo (Khan) Montalban!!
Braveheart was a damn good movie. Such a tearjerker!
