I’ve been browsing the board members stories forum and noticed that people are starting stories but never completing them. Sure you have those crazy stories where one chapter takes forever to write and I get that but you have those “other” stories that people either A. Like and want to see the story finish B. like but the author lost interest in writing it or C. The author lost some of the chapters(this really grinds my gears). Then you got those stories that people dont want finished because of one reason or another a good example of this would be that stupid Mei ling story where the girl wont use the toilet or something crazy like that. It blows my mind what people will write and never finish!!

Sorry…I hate to say this but we don’t owe you stories.
Like any artistic endeavor, it requires a level of inspiration and dedication that is very, very easy to lose depending on ones current mood, especially if they suffer from depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Sometimes I’ll get started on a story and something or other will happen that means I have to end it, or worse actually -delete- it like I did my most recent story.
It’s just the way things go.

I agree. It also irked me deeply that stories I truly enjoyed were abandoned by their authors. Upon writing my own work I found, at least in my case, the issue is the failure to outline and pre-plan a plot and ending. My answer - I wrote some stories that are completed. I suggest you do the same, if you don’t like it, produce a work that meets your criteria.
Each author has their own motivation. Most here write because it helps them live out a fantasy (for some, a fap fantasy which leads to the stories we collectively deride) and they enjoy acquiring the skill of writing; those works are interesting and eclectic. Some write for praise/admiration, that sort of author rarely improves because they don’t care for the craft just the notorierty; the works are generally voluminous and repetitive for that type. I, personally, write from a sense of duty I acquired because of the enjoyment I felt from reading other’s works for free. I wanted to give back. The day I think no one cares, I’ll realize I can’t actually repay that enjoyment and I will be free of my self-imposed duty. Perhaps others are with me on that third one, I don’t know.
That’s why my argument is - if you want a specific story, write it. Then I can read it too!

I’m actually In the midst of writing a story right now(I wont say the name of it to keep things interesting) about twin sisters and their battle with some “crazy habits” and they meet someone that is in a similar situation to them

I know that I feel guilty for not updating my stuff regularly, but at the same time RL shit happens, and I just can’t concentrate on something that doesn’t immediately impact my life.

I had this problem when writing fanfic, now I only post things after I finish them (if a story is almost done I can average a chapter a year due to getting sidetracked). It might be extreme but it saves me the stress of knowing I HAVE to update soon (and finally do so the next year). I’d rather be safe than sorry.

I think its more of a result of a few things

All of your diaper stories are at the core sexual in nature. I don’t mean that all diaper stories are written with the purpose of sexual arousal in mind but even the most well written stories in this vein carry an element of wish fulfillment that goes above and beyond the nonspecific ego that occurs in all writing. All of us those who have written stuff for posting and those of us who write for our own enjoyment have to put ourselves in the story either as the punished victim or as the valiant cheerleader, honor student or treasured science fiction character who also happens to have a diaper fetish. This can be wearisome because you are taking a very interment part of yourself and putting it out there for public inspection.

You think you have plotted out a story of this nature very well but really all you wanted to was get your character to the nursery, doctor’s office or summer camp. After that it doesn’t really matter because that is all the further you wanted to go.

This is absolutely false. My interest in diapers and being little is not arousing to me, and thus the stories I write or art I draw in most cases aren’t intended for that purpose. Granted, people might fap to them anyway and that’s their business, but that doesn’t mean it’s inherently sexual in nature.

Also false. Not everyone is secretive about this particular kink/interest. For me, every single person on my facebook friends list is aware to some degree that I enjoy ageplay and diapers. This is because I’m open about it and regularly share my artwork.
More than half of the people on my friend list on facebook are NOT ABDL themselves. This is including a completely vanilla 73 year old bass guitar playing church pastor who is kind of my biggest supporter when it comes to my artwork.

No just absolutely false for you. When you talk like this you remind me of that guy on two stupid dogs “isn’t that cutie….but its wrong!!” I try never to take the tone of your responses to seriously but I can’t really blame the OP for not sticking around to get yelled at.
If its true about your Facebook profile that’s extremely brave. I don’t like Facebook if someone had actually told me at the beginning that you could never erase your profile I would have never signed up.

I’m really not the only ABDL out there who ISN’T sexual during their little side. Hell, I know several ABDL’s who are purely -asexual- regardless of their state of mind.

When my babygirl is in little mode, she is completely uninterested in sex, sometimes to my frustration. I know many other AB’s who are asexual when in the little headspace.
Something one learns the more they explore this little corner of the BDSM world is that it really is a huge spectrum of people, each with their own slightly unique experience and perception. It’s one of the reasons why ABDLs are such a mess of cats to try and herd when it comes to gatherings and the like…

It is sexual to me. I feel guilty about my ABDL desires and indulging in wearing and using diapers. I keep this a secret and no one in my real life knows about my ABDL side. I agree with Victor’s point number three on this. I don’t have anyone to talk to about this side of my writing except the ABDL story boards. I can talk about my science fiction writing with friends though and I can bounce ideas off of people.

With regards to stories that are never finished, I have reached the point where I will NOT even read any that are started until they have either been moved into the completed story archive, or clearly marked as completed.
I understand the reasons behind this sites creation, namely so that authors can get feedback, however I believe that no story should be posted until it has been completed. That way, if no one knows that a story is being written, it would not matter if the Author took 10 or more years to complete it.
There are also a few topics that I believe should never be published, namely those relating to kidnapping, which in the real world is a crime, and also slavery.
To my way of thinking writing about those two things are plain wrong. There has been enough REAL slavery in the world, and writing a so called story about it just cheapens the real suffering that those people who endured it went through.
Personally I would like to see Authors who write about those topics brought before a Judge and convicted.
