Oh sure, I liked it back when I had ready access to a pool, or a cool tree… but every room in this place gets stupid hot. Especially my room. And the flies… yesterday we had about, I’m not exaggerating 100 flies enter the house from under the kitchen door, and proceed to land on everything. I finished about 30 of them, but there was blood everywhere. …and then the ants came to eat the dead flies.

I know the feeling.
My room is the hottest room in the house as it’s the furthest away and furthest upwards of the house, so when we decide not to use the air conditioning, every bit of heat that circles through the house goes directly to my room and stays there for a LONG period of time.
What’s worse, both of my windows have broken down screens when opened, so even if I put a fan in it to blow out all the hot air, bugs have the ability to literally fly right in through some of the holes in the screen.
A couple years ago during the year of the Cicadas, I had a nest built in my room inside my mattress through one of the holes. Scared the shit out of me when twenty of them just bursted out as I layed down one day.

I don’t mind the summer, but I hate the beach so very much.

The sun glistening off your body that you probably aren’t satisfied with, sand in places that’ll never come out, and some of the things in that water that you don’t even want to know can make you REALLY self conscious.

And of course our big water park went out of business… well, I guess Fiesta Village is still around.

While I wouldn’t go as far as to claim some form of reverse SAD, summer tends to mess with my moods (and my appetite too, come to think of it). Hot weather disrupts my focus and causes me to be more irritable than usual. I also get sunburned rather easily. Moving to an appartment next month with no A/C should be interesting

My room is also poorly positioned. You see, we have a swamp cooler, but the way it blows, in relation to my room, ensures that I receive NONE of the benefits of it in there.

I also hate summer. I am very sensitive to heat. But thank got we have AC in our apartment. I have the fan on right now since it wasn’t that hot out.

I love summer, the best time of the year!! I have always liked summer, everything is so lively & active!! Of course I also love winter, as well!! The reason is that temps stay about the same during those times of the year!!

I live for summer. Yes, bugs suck and I am terrified of wasps and bees. But I still prefer the summers here in WI over the brutal cold, dark, depressing, seemingly never ending winters. We only get about 2 months of actual “summer” in WI so I cherish it and try to hold on to it as long as possible.

I can’t help but hate the wasps. But the BBQs and Pimms more than make up for it.
And I live pretty near a pretty major tennis tournament and the town I’m at uni in must be one of the world’s best looking in the sun.

I love Summer myself, cause it’s warm and I don’t have to wear a heavy jacket, long-sleeved shirts, etc. I HATE long-sleeved shirts, and would rather wear my KSU Football t-shirt, or my Cavaliers shirts instead.
I HATE winter, and winter can cost me money at work if we get a killer snowstorm like the one we had in March, and I HATES to lose my money to mother nature. Summer, does not cause me that problem unless I was foolish enough to get hurt at work like back in February.
I LOVE the beach, I love the warm waves, I love to think about The Beach Boys and their classic songs when I am on the beach.
Another reason I love Summer, we townies get our city back, and the bars are less crowded with drunken 20-somethings who can’t control their drinking.

I Hate Summer
Summer’s definitely my favorite season as well. I get to work and earn some money, go to the beach, hang out with my high school friends, and complain about the huge influx of tourists in Manhattan. Not to mention, I have a summer birthday. Four more days!
