I recently went hunting with the brother in law. it was my first time out so we just waited in a bush and hoped some dear would come bye. none did but we still had alot of fun. he is going to take me stalking up a mountain next season.
Now the point of this thread. What are your views on hunting. When the brother in law goes hunting, he only shoots what he will eat. and i hope to do the same, i also want to try make some rugs out of the skins. does that make it any better?
And for people who enjoy hunting, care to share any fun tales?
Humans evolved into the species they are today, quite literally, because of hunting. Killing animals for fun seems cruel, but killing animals for food, skins, whatever - that seems all right to me. The only problem with hunting in a modern sense is that when people go for the huge trophy bucks, they end up taking some of the most virile members out of the population and weakening the gene pool. I guess keep that in mind, but otherwise, humans are omnivores for a reason. Go for it.
Although that monologue from My Cousin Vinnie does come to mind…
