I would like to wish everyone a happy Paddy’s day. Now its not an excuse to go wild try and reflect on the good us Irish have done for the world. Anyway have a good one
Happy St. Paddy’s Day
The position of St Patrick’s Day is why I no longer give up alcohol for Lent.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day

Happy St. Paddy’s Day
I wish that Boston would do like Chicago does.
That is pretty freaking cool. Either way, the parade in Southie will be kick ass, as always. Happy St. Patricks, all. Erin go bragh and all that.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day
Dunno about the Anglican Church and actually I’m not Catholic, but a lot of people observe lent as a cultural thing or simply because it’s worth giving something up every now and again.
Catholics aren’t that uncommon, though.
And that green cannot be good for the river!
Happy St. Paddy’s Day
From what I’ve read about it, it used to not be good for the river, and especially for the denizens of said river. But a while back, they began using an environmentally-friendly dye to turn the water green.
I know I said I wish they’d dye the Charles River green, but then I got to thinking. We here in the Hub don’t need to dye our river green. It freaking comes that way normally -_-
Happy St. Paddy’s Day
The Thames is this sickening green/brown/grey. Smells bad too.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day
Are you Catholic? in England???
Or does the Anglican Church also do Lent?[/quote]
There’s no shortage of Catholics in England- particularly in areas where many Irish people have immigrated- Liverpool, for example.
And the Church of England does do Lent, along with quite a lot of the other days and seasons which the Catholic church observes. There are some Anglican churches which you might think actually were Catholic from looking at them- of course, a great many were originally Catholic when there was only one church in England, but there are some Anglican churches with statues of the Virgin Mary, confessionals, and so on. Of course, there are some than are very non-traditional, too, with drum kits and full immersion pools for baptism.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day
I have to work, but I will be celebrating after work. LOL!!! I was supposed to be off work tonight but unfortunately that got shot down like a Russian MiG. My boss wants two dishwashers.
So, to everyone, be safe, celebrate the holiday and WEAR GREEN!!! LOL

Happy St. Paddy’s Day
I suppose it would make sense for the Anglican Church to observe Lent, at least initially, there was very little changed, bar a lack of fealty to the pope.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day
I celebrated St. Patricks’s Day by going to the Bull’s - Celtics game. Unfortunately there was no luck for the Irish this night.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day
Me, I had to work and now I am somewhat hammered. I don’t care. lol. I wore a Celtics shirt I have as it is green and I went out after work. I remember the rule. Wear green on St. Patty’s Day or get pinched. LOL
Well, for me I am doing ok. I got home safe and a ride in a cop cruiser as I know most of the university cops here.
