Happy Independence Day (U.S.)

Happy birthday, America. Anyone doing anything to celebrate?

Happy Independence Day (U.S.)

It’s currently thunderstorming in my area, so unfortunately no.

But if tomorrow’s clear then yes, I’ll likely have a burger, bratwurst and steak to build up energy to blow shit up, as that’s what the founding fathers would have wanted!

(Credit to Jim Gaffigan for that bit o’ humor)

I’ll be resenting our losses, then…

If only you had stopped Mr. Revere, perhaps things would have been different… :stuck_out_tongue: I kid, Nemo, I love the British….though I still can’t freaking understand Faulty Towers.

Anyway, my original plans for the evening was taking my baby and my wife-to-be to the Esplanade for the Boston Pops (even if Neil Diamond is the featured headliner…who cares, it’s the Pops, it’s the 4th, and it’s free lol). However, my wife-to-be nixed that. I went along when she explained all that we’d need to bring. Diaper bag, change of clothes for the baby, extra layers for all of us (it might be chilly and might rain too), a stroller, food for the baby…well, that’s too much damn work lol. So I’ll be on my couch, baby in my arms, watching on CBS. At least we’ll be warm

I went 'round the corner to a bbq and will be watching fireworks from afar shortly.

I just came back from a nice party out by the Sound. There was no fireworks show this year, unfortunately, but the food and company were phenomenal. I got to see a few fireworks on the ride home, too, so I feel like I got my Independence Day spirit in.

Happy 4th, everyone.

Well luckily it stopped raining long enough for us to light off a few fireworks.

With all the tubes we had been saving from previous 4th of july celebrations, we had enough to light off about sixty artillery shells at once (With the help of a long multiple branched fuse of course).

Loud as absolute fuck I have to say, but the two little three year olds with us were loving the whole damn thing.

Had a big cookout with family and friends. We had burgers, ribs, hot dogs and the like. Then we went out to see the fireworks, so overall a very fun holiday.

What’s not to get about Fawlty Towers?

So I ended up watching fireworks from the roof of the local university’s parking garage. After the city’s display ended, one guy decided to set off his own fireworks….right in front of the stairwell. After his display ended, he was promptly arrested.

Kind of them to wait…

Smoked some ribs with my new WSM. Very yummy!

This is a few days late but I got together with my best friend for the festival and fireworks downtown and got hammered wasted drunk after having to work all morning long on the 4th when we should have been closed.

Don’t remember much of it but it was a good time. lol.

I also ate a lot of junk food I shouldn’t have given my blood pressure but who gives a damn?

Ya gotta have some fun.

Well, it happens, what can I say… It is like that, you remember some things, and don’t remember some things.

Especially when you drink a lot of alcoholic beverages with your friends and such. I don’t do that as often as I used to because I have to cut back but once in a while is all right.

With me, I don’t usually party like that often, but it was the 4th of July and I hadn’t had a chance to enjoy the festival and the fireworks in a few years because I had the closing shift. This year, I decided to have fun.

Maybe I had a little too much fun.

Other people remind you and it’s hilarious!

Plus you get to that stage of quite pissed where all you can do is drink more. It’s fun in the interim.
