Make sure you’ve read it a few times before, so that you can read it fluently. Don’t bury your head in the sheet and when you look at people don’t see them as a big terrifying mass, but just a collection of individuals. You’d be happy to talk to one person you know in conversation, or even amongst twenty: reading it out is just a more formalised version of the same thing. You’re just talking to people and people aren’t scared. Besides, errors don’t matter because no one else can see what you’re reading and the worst you can be is boring.
Just breath slowly and deeply and don’t build it up in your mind. Just chill!

The most important thing, I’ve found, is to take it slow! When you’re nervous, your heartbeat increases, and the rest of your activities want to increase along with it, including the rate of your speech.
Don’t give in. Take a deep breath, speak slowly and enunciate your words (especially the important ones), and remember - even though you know what your speech says, everyone else doesn’t, so they want to hear every word of it.
Another useful tip is to make sure you breathe at every comma and period. That’s what they’re there for, anyway.
Good luck - it’ll probably be much easier than you think.

You could always just load yourself up with Rescue Remedy, that might help.
To be honest though, you just have to do it. I’m always jittery and useless when I have to speak in public but I find that once I get going then it’s not so bad. Trying not to speak too quickly, keeping eye contact and knowing your material is important and all helps, but the hardest part is getting started because once you’ve done that you realise that the actual practice isn’t all that daunting, at least I tend to. All that doesn’t help to allay nerves the next time but I fear there’s no trick to make is easier.
