I voted by mail in ballot, so I don’t have to worry about the lines at the polls. I am glad to see that so many people will be voting though. That’s the way it should be in every election, not just presidential elections.
I sent in my absentee ballot a few weeks ago. To anyone who hasn’t yet, go and vote today. Vote now, or sacrifice your right to complain about politics for the next four years.
I voted by mailing in my ballet. Here in Oregon, the ballets get mailed to you and you fill it out and mail it back in. So convenient than having to go downtown to cast my vote.
A few organizations are giving out freebies in honor of Election Day. The three I know off the top of my head are Starbucks (free coffee if you voted), Ben & Jerry’s (free scoop of ice cream for everyone between 5 and 8 PM), and Krispy Kreme (free donut with an “I Voted” sticker… which leaves absentees like me out in the cold).
Personally, I hate Starbucks and coffee in general, but I’ll never turn my nose down at something free. Mmm, tastes like freedom.
I voted early this AM, and the lines were starting to get long. Fortune favor the bold; I was at the head of the line for my polling place. I got it done, and I am glad I did. The line was long when I left and this was early in the AM, like right after 6:30.
Yeah, there was no line when I voted either. Would have only taken a couple minutes, except we went into the polling place through the wrong door and wound up wandering around for a while.
