Election Day is upon us...

At 6:30 ET, I will be at the polls casting my vote. I am going early while the college kids sleep off their hangovers.

I figure I will go early, and do my patriotic duty and vote in this historic election.

Anyone else like me going to play the early bird, and or are you willing to wait in the long lines that have been forecast on all major networks?

Would LOVE to hear everyone’s experiences with this election.

Election Day is upon us…

I voted by mail in ballot, so I don’t have to worry about the lines at the polls. I am glad to see that so many people will be voting though. That’s the way it should be in every election, not just presidential elections.

Election Day is upon us…

I was in and out of the polling place in under 15 minutes. I’m also very relieved not to be covering this election for a newspaper for a change.

Election Day is upon us…

I sent in my absentee ballot a few weeks ago. To anyone who hasn’t yet, go and vote today. Vote now, or sacrifice your right to complain about politics for the next four years.

Election Day is upon us…

I voted by mailing in my ballet. Here in Oregon, the ballets get mailed to you and you fill it out and mail it back in. So convenient than having to go downtown to cast my vote.

Election Day is upon us…

I mailed in my absentee ballot last week.

Worth pointing out:

A few organizations are giving out freebies in honor of Election Day. The three I know off the top of my head are Starbucks (free coffee if you voted), Ben & Jerry’s (free scoop of ice cream for everyone between 5 and 8 PM), and Krispy Kreme (free donut with an “I Voted” sticker… which leaves absentees like me out in the cold).

Personally, I hate Starbucks and coffee in general, but I’ll never turn my nose down at something free. Mmm, tastes like freedom.

Election Day is upon us…

Voted a couple hours ago. There was literally no line at all.

Election Day is upon us…

I voted early this AM, and the lines were starting to get long. Fortune favor the bold; I was at the head of the line for my polling place. I got it done, and I am glad I did. The line was long when I left and this was early in the AM, like right after 6:30.

Well, was nice to get it done and out of the way.

Election Day is upon us…

Yeah, there was no line when I voted either. Would have only taken a couple minutes, except we went into the polling place through the wrong door and wound up wandering around for a while.

Election Day is upon us…

Voted on Saturday. Yay early voting! There was a decent sized line, though. Took me about a half-hour.

Election Day is upon us…

There was a very short line when I went to vote.

Election Day is upon us…

Speaking of long lines, maybe that’s one of the other reasons why not everyone votes.

Voted a couple hours ago. There was literally no line at all.

Was that word really necessary?

I think we all would of understood what you meant without that word.
Or is “No line at all” a figure of speech?

Election Day is upon us…

Sometimes, “literally” is used for emphasis.

Election Day is upon us…

What would be the point of emphasizing a word used for emphasis then?

Election Day is upon us…

Eh? Literally wasn’t being emphasized. Literally was used. I don’t see what you’re saying here, but it’s been a long day.

Nah, my fault. Beth put bold in it in her quote, but I was assuming that the original post was also bold.

I do find it funny that she would complain about the word itself considering it’s one of her most commonly used words.

Election Day is upon us…

Veeerrry interesting events unfolding, it looks like. Indicative, even.

Election Day is upon us…

Interesting? Not really. Seems to be going exactly as I thought, Obama is stomping McCain.

Election Day is upon us…

I was actually referring to the fodder for schadenfreude going on on Fox. Music to my ears. grin
