Don't you hate it when....

….you specifically ask for something from the store when a friend or whoever goes, and they come back with something else, that you don’t really like. That REALLY pisses me off! >:(

Re: Don’t you hate it when…

So….go to the store yourself? Hop a bus or ride a bike there or something. Or if they’re going to pick stuff up and you ask them to pick up something for you while they’re there, why not go with them? Sounds like this is a common issue with you and if so, there’s your solution. Do it yourself.

Re: Don’t you hate it when…

Well Jacklyn what if they happen to be somebody that cannot go to the store, or pick out items off a shelf? I have trouble reading packages, and need to seek help to find things. I know many totally blind people who have someone go to the store for them, because its not like they can pick the things up off the shelf and find exactly what they want.

Re: Don’t you hate it when…

I could assume that just as I could equally assume (s)he is a physically able bodied person capable of getting his/her own things from the store in most cases. However, the latter example is far more likely, and considering there’s not a lot of information provided other than a rambling about why he hates people who shop for him not to his liking or preference.

There’s a bit of ambiguity as to what the item is as well, so it’s hard to feel sympathy without knowing the situation. Is it something serious that’s worth a lot of money or physically affects his body in a positive or negative way? Or is it simply food that he just doesn’t care for. I don’t know and I can only respond with the information I am given and the basic fundamentals of Occam’s razor, the simplest answer is usually the right answer (re: he’s physically capable of obtaining his own groceries in some manner).

Seconded

Don’t you hate it when people don’t realise that the wonders of modern telephony mean that if you need to substitute things you can call and check and then both of you can be happy?
