AZ law declares people no longer responsible for own actions
It’s simple: developers will have to stop releasing good games in Arizona.
AZ law declares people no longer responsible for own actions
oh great, now video gamer well get blame when someone do somthing stupid because they didnt know the different between fantasy and reality
AZ law declares people no longer responsible for own actions
Now? Where have you been for the past ten years? Everyone knows all crime commited in America by persons under age 30 were forced to do it by evil video games. And before that, it was evil music. Before that, it was evil comics books, evil movies, evil plays, going back all the way to evil cave paintings.
Of course, following this logic, video game developers can’t be held responsible either, since they were influenced by… I haven’t mentioned evil hieroglyphics yet, let’s go with that.

Well back in the day, video game maker well be getting blame but at the end the idioit well have to take responsible for his or her action. But now video game maker well be getting into trouble as well because of this stupid law.
AZ law declares people no longer responsible for own actions
What’s really disturbing is that the bill says the content in question need only be “a cause” in a person commiting a felony or an act of terrorism. Not the sole cause or the primary cause, but “a cause.”

ie. loosest circumstantial evidence…
The biggest worry is that it seems to totally redefine influence, meaning that it’s not just game developers who should be at risk.

A cause, not the cause? Based on that logic, the Beatles could be held accountable for Charles Manson’s crimes. Let’s see how long this law lasts once someone uses a bible verse.

I play GTA and other games of the like, and yet, I am mature enough to know I would NEVER in reality go around killing people. This law is stupid. Ridiculous. It is asinine.
I think this law was done with Helen Lovejoy in the background screaming, “Oh! Won’t someone please think of the children!!!” I am a gamer, but I know the line between reality and fantasy.

I hate to think of it but somewhere right now Jack Thompson is smiling.
AZ law declares people no longer responsible for own actions
No he’s not, he’s writing a dozen angry letters because they didn’t ask for his input (or if they did, because they didn’t ask for ENOUGH of his input).

Yea he never happy on anything, but he still smiling because this is the first step in his sercet plan to get rid of everthing that good and cool

I myself have been playing video games since the days of the atari, and i’m proud to say that even as a little kid then playing Tank, to the adult I am today playing games like Battlefield, Crysis, and several other shooting games…I have yet ever to setup way I could take out people with a long ranger sniper rifle, or a .50 cal from point blank range. I think it really is stuipd to sit here and point at violence in video games and movies as the reason people do bad things. Some people just aren’t that bright and are easily influenced. My two year old son can alread understand that fighting is bad….hell he even stepped in between a 4 year old and my son’s two year old buddy when the 4 year old came over to pick a fight, yet my son would go nuts if I didn’t let him come sit in my lap from time to time when I play games.

The bill was defeated.
AZ law declares people no longer responsible for own actions
I’m glad it was defeated. If the constituents of the legislators that sponsored this farce have any respect for the constitution whatsoever then they will not be holding office for much longer.

That’s what I was thinking.

When bills go bad. This is an example. It’s up to the gamer to know reality from fantasy. I would NEVER in real life go around my hometown shooting people up, and or smashing into them. It’s fun to do in a video game, but I would NEVER, EVER do that in real life as I respect human life and consider it to be precious.
Plus, games like GTA are clearly NOT for kids. I would NEVER allow my kids to play half of the games I have in my collection.
