Anybody on here know about cars and trucks

I have a 2012 F150 and I have automatic headlight settings.

At 7:00am in the morning when I go to work and a little after 5:30pm at dust time my headlights go on and my dashboard lights go dim this may last for 5 minutes. I messed with the headlight switch and nothing changed. I messed with the dimmer switch or the dome light switch and nothing changed.

My neighbor thinks something is pulling.
I did a google search and they said a fuse might be going.

any suggestions

If you think a fuse may be going, have you checked the fuses?

no I didn’t check the fuses I don’t even know where the fuse box is on a truck

to paraphrase a famous quote. Jim I’m a Computer Engineer not a Mechanic. But you can proably google your trucks owners manual, and see where the fuse box is

If you or your neighbors can’t get it fixed or figure it out, you might need to take it to a mechanic. Best of luck! Hope you get it fixed!

It took me a grand total of ten seconds to find this:

I’m a little late, but I’m a tech and have a lot of experience with your truck but I moved to boats a few years ago so I may be a little rusty. Is this a recent problem or has this always happened?

This recently happened I would say 4 months ago. I just didn’t notice it much back then as I do now.

I leave for work at 7:00am or a little after and headlights go on and dashboard lights go dim can’t hardly see my speed or all the other gadgets on there for at least a good 5 minutes. And when I do drive at at night I about 6:pm same thing happeneds

it was much brighter in the morning back then what is now and it was much brighter later at night than it is now.

What happens when you cover the ambient light sensor? Its that dark plastic bump on top of the dash, all the way forward by the windshield and usually centered between the defrost vents.

I have no idea I will have to try that.
